The following are unsolicited observations:

"The only thing missing is the smell, and Eric."
-- Joe --
"Hey! Which one of you bastards stole my beer?"
-- The one next to Eric --
"Hey! This is MY beer."

Dear Think Tank:
Do you guys ever have musical events on the patio? Covor bands, easy house music, reggae on the river? Im a regular visitor of the area and would love to enjoy a brew with some easy goin tunes on the water!

We keep all of our rock stars in the brewhouse and kitchen, our space just isn't big enough for more.

Dear Allen:
We don't bottle but we've started canning our beers. Because our system is very manual (or Manuel) we only have a couple of outside accounts:
Sam's Market at Hacienda; and,
Northwood's Golf Course.
You can also swing by the brewery a pic up cans to go here.
Cheers!

Furious Monkey
Santa Rosa, Ca USA - Sunday, January 08, 2017 at 17:37:36 (PST)

REPLY

Dear Furious Monkey:
Yes, the 15th annual "Beer Revival and BBQ CookOff" will be held on the 3rd Saturday of August.
Tickets go on sale 1st Friday of June @ 1:00 p.m.

If you're unfamiliar, here's what they're saying on Yelp:

"just wish there're more BBQ variety than ribs & chicken wings for my poor Pescatarian friend"
There won't be

"What a Sh*t F**k of a fest that I will not go to again"
We may have a winner for this year's event shirt

"A one star review probably isn't fair... especially considering I haven't even gone "
Probably? Don't be so hard on yourself

There you go Furious Monkey, The Stumptown Beer Revival and BBQ Cook-Off: warts and all.

mmmmm ... crab ... and garlic bread ... and beer.

Dear Think Tank:
We visited your brewery months ago and had an amazing time. I am wondering if you ever rent out the patio for events? With the river background and the beer on tap, it would be a great wedding venue? So, do you ever rent out the patio?
amanda
mather , ca USA - Monday, January 19, 2015 at 13:28:45 (PST)

REPLY

Dear amanda:
No,not the patio. We've reserved tables for bachelor/ette parties or rehearsals, but just as the beach and the beer contribute to the atmosphere,so does the crowd ... We have rented out the beach in the past but this year we're hoping for some changes that'll make availability unpredictable.
Thanks ... and we're glad you had a great time.

REPLY

Dear your temporary neighbor:
Holy Cow, sorry for the delay.
Our brewery is very small so "tours" and "facilities" aren't usually the terms we throw around when describing the act of standing in the middle of our brew-room and spinning around on the spot; thank you.
Generally, for a quick spin in the brewery, you just need to catch the brewer in a good mood.

Dear Think Tank:
I would like to use your image of the Stumptown Tart Pin-up
on the gas tank of my motorcycle. This is free advertisement for your brew. Just want to make sure it is alright with the owners copyrights & all. Look forward to hearing from you.

The closest campground is Guerneville Lodge followed by Outback campground. They're about 1/2 mile amd 3/4 mile from the Brewery respectively. Schoolhouse campground is about a mile, and Hilton Park is about two miles.

Dear Markus:
I wish I could say we were but we returned all of the ancient yeast a couple of years back. It was mind blowing to work with yeast, revived from amber, and aged at 28 - 45 million years; a crazy, fun project that performed much better than expected and ultimately knocked out a number of fine beers.
Too bad we don't have the technology to revive the project.

Are YOU a Psychopath?
This is a story about a girl.

While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much the dream guy that she was searching for that she fell in love with him immediately.

However, she never asked for his name or number and afterward could not find anyone who knew who he was.

A few days later the girl killed her own sister.

Question: Why did she kill her sister?

Dear Think Tank:

Do you folks offer a consolation prize to dedicated beer questers who are the victims of unfortunate circumstances? I've read about the Ancient Ale and the wonderment of Stumptown for three weeks, and on Saturday finally made the pilgrimage to your fair brewpub (a total of over an hour's drive) only to find that the Ancient Ale had run out not two hours before my untimely arrival. Alas, such is my fate. So I'm planning on coming back up and wanted to know when would be a good time (for the Ancient Ale) and also is there any chance your brewer would be around for a pint (on me of course) and some tete-a-tete (pardon my lack of proper diacritic marks, I'm lazy) in regards to brewing? My thanks,

- Nathanael

P.S. My apologies to the friedly, well-spoken gentleman in the lime green tank top sitting at the bar on Saturday, I didn't mean to be rude at the bar. You started to stike up a conversation about what kind of beer you thought my girlfriend would likely be a fan of (you guessed Rat Bastard IPA, but she actually alternates between cider, wheat beer and lambic) We would have hung around and chatted if it weren't for the obnoxiously loud Notre Dame fan a couple of stools down.

Dear Nathanael:
Sorry about that ... my fault. When the Xport blew we started moving the XP a lot faster: it was a surprise to have run out over the weekend. I racked off the last two kegs of the XP on monday so it's back on tap right now, but I can't guarantee how long it'll last. Maybe two weeks on the outside.
Those batches were the last to be brewed here with the ancient yeast and the kegs we have on tap now mark the end of those batches. When they're out you'll have to wait for Fossil Fuels Brewing Co.
To answer your next question: we'll know when their beer is available at about the same time you do (unless you check the F.F. website more often). Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.
As for the beer, I'll gladly accept. Beer's not only my favorite thing to drink, it's my favorite subject. I'm here during the week, but seldom here on the weekends. Cheers.

Good question ... the third Saturday of August each year, so next year it'll fall on the 15th of August.
As you probably already know, we limit attendance to the Beer Revival rather than dilute it, so it's a good idea to start planning early. In fact, we're strongly advising anyone who wants to come to think of it as a pre-sale only event (as this years turned out to be). We should have the online tickets available in late May or early June.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Dear Think Tank:
Why didn't anybody tell me that instead of working hard and saving cash for a down-payment on my first home, I should have just taken out a zero down-payment mortgage from IndyMac Bank for $825,000 2 or 3 years ago so I could buy a nice house here in Oakland and then stop making payments on said loan next month so the FDIC would modify my loan, cap it at 6.5%, extend the amortization and forgive principal to make my monthly payment of principal, interest, taxes and insurance only be 38% of my income?

Dear Pouche:
This is a really good question. Fortunately, one of the brain trust members had the answer: Steve. Without whom, we'd have to cook.
